A 70ft Classic Schooner (one family owner since new) in survey for day charter. Beautifully finished and fitted out, superbly well maintained, comfortable and sea kindly. With masthead rig, furling headsails and a lifting pivoted centerplate, she’s the ultimate blend of traditional character and modern gear and rig. A very appealing schooner designed and built by Lex Lundmark in1960 for his wife and himself to cruise the Pacific in Captain Cook’s footsteps. It has has been in the owner’s family since she was built. Son John rebuilt and refitted the vessel in 2008 and has proudly maintained her in perfect condition. It features the latest hydraulics and navigation technology while carefully retaining her original distinctive and elegant style. Built by the famous Yarrows Shipyard in Glasgow Scotland for the English Royal Family the Southern Cross is a beautiful classic sailboat that dates back to 1962. That year she was awarded the Lloyd's Register "Yacht of the Year" Trophy for the best design & construction, in competition with other 86 yachts. During this time, it has been owned by such outstanding figure as Frank Sinatra, and is currently in Barcelona for luxury event rental. The ship has a 3 decks layout.  The main deck includes  two  dining rooms (for 10 and 14 people), a very large living room, a summer room and the bar area. The upper deck is a large solarium and entertainment area. The lower deck has all the cabins, the kitchen, as well as the engine room. This painstakingly hand crafted vessel of 97' (LOA) is a replica of the Terengganu junk schooner of the Pinas type built between 2004 to 2010. Named Naga Pelangi (Rainbow Dragon), this romantic ship combines the ancient looks of the traditional boat with the amenities of a modern yacht on the inside to accomodate up to 8 guests plus crew. Built to meet modern needs and international yacht standards, the Naga Pelangi was designed to be the prototype of a Malay classical yacht.
