RAstar 3200 ASD Escort Tug, built to order and designed for operations in exposed areas such as many new LNG terminals where a high standard of sea-keeping is required. With Fi-Fi 1, and escort notations, these particular vessels are able to fulfill a wide variety of duties in adverse conditions due to the very well-proven double chine form that characterizes all Robert Allan Ltd designs, with a sweeping "chined" stern. A large escort skeg is fitted forward which in conjunction with the sponsoned hull shape enhance the indirect towing capability and provide much enhanced roll stability.
Having the approximate dimensions of 32.00m LOA x 12.80m B. Mld. x 5.37m D. Mld. x 5.80m Draft (Navigational) generally in accordance with the RAstar 3200 Design provided by Robert Allan Ltd of Canada.
Built to LR classification with notation +100A1 Escort-re Fighting Ship 1 (2400m³/h) with Water Spray *IWS, +LMC, UMS, for unrestricted service.
Sleeping and messing accommodation to be provided for a crew of 8 in single and 2-berth cabins in two decks. Air conditioning to be provided throughout.
The propulsion machinery to comprise two electric started Caterpillar 3516C(HD) marine diesel engines each rated 2525 kW (3386 bhp) at 1800 rpm (intermittent duty D rating) coupled to Schottel SRP4000 CP controllable pitch azimuth rudder propellers to provide a guaranteed bollard pull of 78 tonnes ahead and an expected bollard pull of 80 tonnes ahead with the main engines developing 100% power.
Main electricity supply of 415VAC/3-Ph/50 Hz to be provided by two electric started Caterpillar C9 diesel engine driven generator sets of 200kW output each running in parallel.
A Caterpillar C4.4 diesel engine driven harbour generator set of 51.5kW output is also to be provided.
External firefighting to be provided and to include two 1500m³/hr firefighting pumps, driven by main engine PTO’s feeding 2 electrically remote controlled 1200m³/hr water/ foam monitor. Drenching foam and dispersant systems are also to be provided.
Internal firefighting to include CO2 engine room fire extinguishing system, portable fire extinguishers, fire hydrants and fire detection system according to Class requirement.
Lifesaving equipment to Class requirements to be provided and to include two 10-man inflatable life rafts, 6 life buoys, 10 life jackets 12 parachute distress signals.
Navigation and communication aids to include Furuno FAR-2117 96nm colour radar, Furuno 1835 36nm radar, Furuno FE-700 echo sounder, Furuno DS-80 speed log, Furuno GP-32 GPS (2), Anschuetz STD022 compact gyro compass, Anschuetz NP-60 auto-pilot, Furuno GMDSS for area A1+A2+A3 (FS-1575 SSB with NBDP and 2 x FM-8900S VHF), Furuno Felcom-18 Inmarsat C, Furuno NX-700B Navtex receiver, Furuno FA-150 automatic identification system, Furuno BR-500 bridge navigation watch alarm system, Sailor SP-3520 portable VHF (2), McMurdo S5 radars transponder, McMurdo E5 EPIRB, Saura 5” binnacle magnetic compass, SEA 857 public address/talkback system and PhonTech BTS-4000 sound powered telephones.
Hydraulic deck machinery to comprise one double warping head double gypsy single drum render/ recovery towing winch forward of 30 tonnes pull at 15 m/min on first layer, drum capacity of 200m x 88mm dia HMPE rope and brake force of 200 tonnes; one single drum towing winch aft of 20/50 tonnes pull at 10/25 min on first layer, drum capacity of 600m x 56mm dia steel wire rope with spoiling gear and brake force of 200 tonnes and one foldable knuckle boom crane of 1.5 tonnes lift at an outreach of 6m, all to be supplied by Kraaijeveld or DMT and Palfinger.
