19m High Speed foil supported Catamaran Ferry built 2019 by Q-West Boat Builders New Zealand to well proven Teknicraft Design to Maritime NZ survey for up to 50 passengers. Powered by twin Scania DI16 076M 661 kW marine diesel engines, coupled to Hamilton HJ403 water jet units providing a top speed of 40 knots and a service speed of 30 knots.  The vessel has full walk-around decks, shallow draft, a wave piercing hull, interceptor ride control system mounted on the transom and an adjustable lift foil between the hulls. The vessel is presented in near new condition, with only 450 hrs on the main engines.
 
The vessel is constructed of welded Sealium 5383 H116 marine grade aluminium alloy on formed aluminium frames, stringers and fore and aft girders.  The decks and cabin structure are also all welded marine Sealium grade aluminium.  There are 2 traverse watertight bulkheads throughout each of the two hulls. Tankage is forward of the engine room bulkhead and are non-integral.

The two main engines are Scania DI16 076M IMO Tier II eight cylinder twin turbo marine diesel engines which develop 661 kW each at 2300 rpm and are rated for intermittent service.  Each main engine drives aft via a torsional coupling and Cardan shafts and are direct coupled to the Hamilton Jet HJ403 water jet units.  Auxiliary power is provided by a 20.5 kVA Kohler 20.5EFKOZD, 50Hz, 1-phase diesel generator to supply the vessel’s primary AC 230 volts, 50 Hz AC electrical power.
 
Bridge Electronic equipment includes:
2 x Simrad NSS12 Multifunction Displays with Radar/Chart Plotter/Sounder
1 x Simrad RS35 DSC VHF Transceiver
1 x Lowrance Nais-500 Class B AIS Receiver
1 x Simrad A2004 Autopilot
1 x Naiad Dynamics Active Interceptor Ride Control Panel
1 x Furuno Foil Trim Indicator
1 x Toa VM-2240 PA Amplifier
2 x ITIM Fire & Bilge Monitoring & Control Alarm Panels
4 x ITIM Fuel, Fresh Water and Black Water Level Panels

1 x Ritchie Powerdamp Magnetic Compass
 
On the foredeck there is an electric VW2500 Maxwell anchor windlass with a single gypsy loaded with 9 meters of 11 mm short link chain rode and 100 meters of 20 mm Nylon rope coupled to a 50 kg Manson Ray50 anchor.
 
On the aft deck are aft and side boarding gates.
 
A custom-built tender launch and retrieval electro-hydraulic system is fitted on the aft deck
The Kiosk area is forward of the helm station and well laid out with a stainless-steel sink top.
Kiosk equipment includes:
  • 1 x Water Tap Dispenser
  • In the Passenger area are 2 Sony and 3 Panasonic TV monitors
  • The vanities have pressure hot and cold water
  • The heads are all porcelain domestic type bowls with gravity flush.
 
There are two 9 kW reverse cycle air-conditioning units by FreezeTec utilising ceiling mounted cassette units in the passenger cabin and a 1.8 kW Cruiair unit fitted by the helm station.
The vessel is equipped and maintained with the safety equipment required for MNZ survey.
There are two 25-man RDF Surviva 25 life rafts and one 6-man RDF Surviva 6 life raft, that are both packed to Solas B and carried either side of the wheelhouse.
A Fixed Fire-Extinguishing system with FirePro FP-200 fire extinguishing generators is fitted in each of the engine rooms.  Life buoys, GME Accusat 406MHz EPIRB are also provided.
Lifesaving appliances are provided for up to sixty (60) persons.
