Technical Specification
The Harbour Tug is intended to assist vessels in harbours and near-by waters and serve as a fire-fighting tug in limited fire-fighting capacity. To achieve extremely good manoeuvrability and versatility as well as reasonable draught the vessel is equipped with two 360° steerable propulsion units in the aft. Insulated and ventilated accommodation, including the wheelhouse, is suitable for the Norway environment. Provision for accommodation of 2+2 persons will be made.

The vessel has a continuous main deck, a one tier accommodation deckhouse and above that a wheelhouse bridge deck. Below the main deck the vessel shall be divided into five compartments with transversal bulkheads:
-void space
-accommodation compartment
-engine room
-aft peak
Two separate bow and stern removable part shall be provided.
Design parameters for using conditions are to be used
- air temperature -25 … +30°C
- sea water temperature 0 … +25°C
In the calculations the following densities have been used:
- sea water 1.010 t/m3
- fresh water 1.000 t/m3
- diesel fuel oil 0.850 t/m3
- lubrication oil 0.900 t/m3
The deadweight will be abt. 62 tons at the mean draught of 4,6 m in sea water.
The partition of the deadweight can be as follows:
Diesel fuel oil abt 23.3 tons

Crew, provisions and stores abt 1 ton
Maximum sustained speed is abt 11/5 knots with main propulsion in the following conditions:
- mean draught of the vessel 4.6 m
- main engines total output of max. 2200 hp
- clean, just painted hull
- wind max. 8 m/s
- water depth min. 6 times the draught
The cruising speed is to be not less than 10 knots.
Bollard pull shall be at least 35 tons ahead and 34 tons astern.
The vessel shall be built for restricted service in accordance with the rules and conventions of the agreed specification and rules of operation, advised by customers in order to obtain their type notation and other mentioned regulations including all changes and additions being in force at the time for the contract signing.
The vessel will be none classified.
The vessel shall be under the flag of Norway and will be registered by customers there.
The vessel to be inclined and tested for stability for complete compliance with the requirements of the I.M.O.A. 167 and the classification.
These tests shall be carried out in presence of the customer’s surveyor and the duly accredited inspectors of the owner.
The curves of statistical stability for the light and loaded conditions to be drawn and the results shall be completed into a stability data booklet.
The production program shall be submitted to the owner within one week from the
date of sign of the contract.
All the functions and systems are to be designed for high reliability and for low maintenance requirements. Basic design material according to Drawings List as well as FEM calculations will be performed by Contractors. Other design material and workshop drawings are to be completed in the Russian language by the yard.
On the delivery of the ship three paper copies and one set of CAD-files of the drawings "as built" with the text in English to be supplied according to separate list approved by Owners.
Certificates and costs for approval of plans by the Authorities concerned shall be paid for by the Customers.
Owners approved planned maintenance system with input from all items on board to be included to a computerized documentation system.
Weight evaluation shall be followed during design and building process by the yard. Follow-up method of weight and center of gravity of the vessel shall be submitted for owner’s approval.
Contractors to supply instruction manuals and spare part lists for instruments and main
Components. Two copy sets of each in English, if available.
The Contractors also to make a ” Data book” showing components with suppliers name,
address, telephone number and all necessary information to make it easy for the Owner to order spare parts. Two copies of this booklet to be delivered with the vessel. List of lubrication oils to be delivered to the Owner. Owner will make a proposal, which oil company is recommendable to minimize the number of oil companies. Two copies of this list to be delivered with the vessel.
The builder shall submit the design material, excluding the basic design material made by Contractors or their designers, for approval to the Customers. Maker's list equipment choice alternatives shall be sent for owners approval prior to the final purchasing decision.
All materials, equipment and fittings to be of high quality, brand new and suitable for the required purpose. The work and material quality / finish to be of high Ukrainian standard which shall be established before the contract is signed.
All dimensions in this specification to be in SI-Units if not otherwise stated. The Contractors to submit their standards for owners approval in advance if required.
The vessel shall be built and to be equipped under the supervision of Owner’s supervisors at the yard.
During building time the Contractors has to give to the owner’s representatives all the technical documentation, which is needed for inspecting the vessel and the equipment.
Owner’s representatives shall have full entrance to the building place. The sea trials shall be made in accordance with the procedures agreed upon with the owner. Speed trials shall be measured by means of GPS. After the sea trials a service check of the mechanisms will be made in an extent agreed upon with the Owner.
The vessel shall be completely finished, tested and approved before delivery. The vessel shall be delivered to the Owner at the shipyard quay with official and delivery documentation, in working condition, but without fuel, lubrication oil, provisions, water and navigating charts. The agreed design material shall be delivered in one copy sets and in digital form. The equipment manuals shall be delivered in one copy sets. All necessary certificates shall be delivered by the Contractors. Two sets of all trials measurement and stability booklets to be supplied.
The hull of the vessel is to be all welded at least grade A ships steel construction. URS rules shall be applied to hull structures and building process. The steel materials and brands used in building shall be according the rules of URS. The materials shall be suitable for the purpose, good quality and without manufacturing faults.
Transverse framing shall be used throughout the whole vessel. The transverse frame spacing shall be 600 mm. The shell plating shall be strengthened in way of ice belt and the anchor. The bulwarks shall be made of steel plate and supported in accordance with the rules by bulbs or with flanged plate supports. The upper part of bulwark shall be of steel pipe. Height of bulwark shall be 1000 mm. The areas i.w.o fenders shall be particularly considered and reinforced.
The subdivision bulkheads shall be built according to the General Arrangement. The transversal bulkheads shall be vertically stiffened.
There shall be a standard camber on the main deck.
The deckhouse with accommodation spaces and wheelhouse shall be located as shown in the General Arrangement. The deckhouse and funnels shall be of steel construction. The deck spacing in the deckhouse shall be not less than 2,5m except at wheelhouse bridge deck 3,5 m, where shall be a 0,5 m high cofferdam under the wheelhouse. The side and end bulkheads of the deckhouse are stiffened either with welded profiles or corrugating construction.
The vessel is to be fitted with a box keel extending from fr. 10 to r. 23 having a max. depth of 1050 mm below base line. The width of the keel is to be such that it enables fair constructability and provides sufficient strength. In no case the keel construction is to penetrate through the bottom plating. Box-keel to consist of (3) three watertight compartments with drainage plugs.
All steel work to be blasted to SA 2 ½ . The hull to be coated with solvent free epoxy system. Adequate number and size of ship quality zinc anodes shall be welded into the hull at suitable places. All descaling, shop priming, derusting and painting work to be carried out in accordance with paint manufacturers recommendations and builders standard. All colours of coats to be in accordance with the owners colour scheme. Coating of machineries and electrical equipment to be done in accordance with manufacturers standard. In case of external equipment, the type and colour of coats to be equal to that applied to the surrounding structure.
All steel material of thickness above 5 mm (subject to normal yard practice) to be blasted to the standard of Sa 2½ according to the URS standard (If not otherwise specified) and to be treated with one coat of shop primer. The final choice of shop primer to be agreed by owners and coating manufacturer subject to normal yard practice and local conditions.
In all cases prior to secondary preparation, any oil, grease, salt contamination etc. on shop primed surfaces is to be removed with appropriate cleaning agents which are approved by the paint manufacturer. For areas where blasting before painting is not specified, sweep blasting or mechanical cleaning of damaged shop primer, welds etc. is to be to an agreed standard.
All surfaces shall be clean and dry before application of paint. All surfaces to be inspected and approved by Contractors quality control prior to presentation to paint  manufacturer and owners for final approval before any application of paint. All coats to be applied at temperatures within those recommended by paint manufacturer for the specific paint, and always within the interval between minimum and maximum over-coating time. Steel temperature to be minimum 1ºC higher than the dew point during application of paint. All application of paint to be carried out with airless spray unless otherwise specified. Dry-film thickness to be checked between coats where necessary and a close inspection to be done by paint manufacturer.
The vessel will be cathodic protected for two years by zinc anodes situated on the underwater body, near the propeller, and in sea chests. Arrangement of anodes to be approved by Customers.
Owners funnel mark to be cut in plates, and welded to both sides of superstructure/funnel and painted acc. to Owners. Cut in steel plate and welded to hull:
Vessel’s name on each side forward and aft.
Homeport, each side on stern.
Draft marks both sides forward and aft.
Vessels registration Number as per Customer’s requirements.
Windows shall be made and located according to the rules and the General Arrangement. The size of square windows in accommodation shall be abt. 400 x 500 mm. The location according to the General Arrangement. Windows shall be of recessed type with steel frames welded to bulkhead plating. Windows in the wheelhouse shall be of size acc. to GA. Dimensioning the window glasses the adequate gap between the glass and the frame shall be taken account.
Four windows shall be provided with window wipers and fresh water spraying system, including freshwater pump and anti freeze liquid pump + vessel located in the cofferdam below the wheelhouse.
Weathertight doors are to be installed according to the General Arrangement. Doors shall be in accordance with shipyard’s standard. Doors in accommodation shall be of B-15 type doors and doors pass through fire zones A-60 class steel doors. Free breadth of abt. 700 mm. Free breadth of outer doors normally 700 mm. Upper edges of door openings shall not be lower than 2100 mm above steel deck. All hinged steel doors shall be in accordance with shipyard’s standard. Sill heights according to the freeboard regulations. All doors shall be provided with a locking device to keep them in the open position. Doors for accommodation, wheelhouse and store shall be provided with lock.
Weathertight service, access and closing hatches are to be installed for:
- accommodation compartment below the maindeck
- to/in engine room
- ventilation openings where necessary
The sizes according to the normal shipyard standards.
Manholes shall be installed to each tank and manufactured according to the rules and shipyard’s standards. Bottom plugs shall be installed into all bottom tanks, flush with shell plating. Type of plugs according to shipyard’s standard.
Outdoor stairs and ladders shall be situated as shown in the General Arrangement. The stairs shall be made of steel with steps of grating, breadth 600 mm, slope max. 70 degr. Hand rails made of galvanized steel tube, shall be fitted on both sides of outdoor stairs and passageways. Height 1000 mm. The pipe rails shall be made according to the shipyard’s standard, location according to the General Arrangement. The height of pipe rails shall be 1000 mm. Necessary ladders shall be provided to each manhole and also for the escape hatches. Indoor stairs shall be of steel, welded to hull construction. Indoor passageways shall be provided with hand rails. Engine room stairs shall be according to shipyard’s standard, slope - vertical.
Engine room platforms are to be of checkered steel or aluminium plate, fitted on angle bar framing and with service hatches in all necessary places.
Fenders on each side of the aft corners are sausage type rudder fenders, diam. Of 400 mm. The sides of the vessel are provided with D-shape rubber fenders, size of 250x200 mm. The bow fender is sausage type rudder fender, diam. of 400 mm. Rubber block pushing fenders are provided on the bow below the 400 mm bow fender. The fenders shall be rigid mounted on the hull by means of steel bolts, belts and (or) chains.
One signal mast having all necessary navigation lights, radar and radio antennas shall be installed on top of the wheelhouse. Location of lights according to the rules.
One hydraulic service crane with type PK2300, shall be installed on the aft main deck.
Totally one inflatable life rafts for six persons in plastic containers shall be provided. The rafts shall be equipped with hydrostatic releases. Life jackets for each person plus 2 extras shall be provided.
The anchoring and mooring equipment shall be determined in accordance with the regulations to comply with the equipment number of the vessel. The vessel shall be equipped with one 275 kg Hall- type anchor. The anchor cable of ø20 mm wire is fitted with ø19 mm chain. Length of 25 m. The anchor cable shall be fitted with roller type stopper. The end of the anchor cable shall be connected with a manual quick release to the drum. Bollards of welded construction, fairleads and chocks shall be installed as shown in the General Arrangement.
One combined hydraulic anchor/towing winch shall be suitably located and secured on the fore deck of the vessel. Pulling power 3.5 ton at 30 m/min. The towing drum shall be capable to hold a suitable towing rope of minimum breaking load of 4 x B.P and length of 150 m. The anchor cable drum shall be capable to store an anchor wire of diam. of 20 mm and length of 85 m + chain of length of 25 m. One warping head shall be of adequate dimensions to take required turns of mooring ropes. Controls shall be of local and remote in the wheelhouse.
One hydraulic towing winch of approved type with brake holding power equal to B.P, shall be suitably located and secured on the aft deck of the vessel. The winch shall be fitted with a suitable tow wire of minimum breaking load 3 x B.P.
Pulling power 3.5 ton at 30 m/min.
Controls shall be local and remote in the wheelhouse.
One mechanical towing hook, capacity of 35 tons, shall be rigid installed on the aft winch foundation.
One hydraulic unit for the winches and the crane shall be located in the machinery room. Capacity of the pumps is rated to operate one towing winch with full power. However, the system is to allow any simultaneous operations of the winches with a reduced speed.
All outer bulkheads exposed to weather shall be insulated with 50 mm mineral wool or foam in accommodation.
Lining of outer bulkheads and of all internal steel bulkheads, if not otherwise stated, shall be made of 25 … 50 mm accommodation lining elements. Plastic decorative film coating on visible side. Floors in accommodation spaces shall be lined deck mass and covered with vinyl coating. In wet spaces concrete shall be moulded with appropriate slope and then to be coated with non-slippery epoxy coating.
Ceiling in accommodation spaces shall be made of plastic coated steel elements, or painted steel plates with 25 mm thick insulation.
The arrangement of the accommodation spaces is shown in the General Arrangement.  The spaces shall be furnished as follows:

Two independent ventilation plants, one for mess and pantry the other for wheelhouse and cabins to be installed according to G.A. The air ventilation plants have common supply air heater for winter conditions. The amount of air supply is adjustable. Ventilation system does not include humidifying equipments. All equipments to be of marine type designed for use on ships. The air conditioning system shall be capable of maintaining at winter time +23ºC throughout the cabins and wheelhouse.
Two electric axial fans shall be provided for the engine room. The fans shall be installed in the casings. The capacity of the fans shall be dimensioned taking into account the air consumption of the main engines and generator engine. An easy access shall be provided to the fans for maintenance.
Water heating system shall be arranged to keep base heating in accommodation,
wheelhouse and machinery room.
Water extinguishing diagram included in main design. Pumps are connected to a fire main line. Main line is normally empty. All important valves shall be clearly marked and painted with red colour.
Fire hydrants are situated as follows:
- engine room 2 pcs (one in fore and other in aft. of the engine room)
- main deck, BB-side. This hydrant line shall also be equipped with international shore connection union with adapters.
- main deck, SB-side
Hose box and hose shall be situated near every fire hydrant. The length of the hose is 10m/hydrant in engine room and 15m/hydrant on main deck.
The outfitting shall consist at least of:
- one (1) electrically driven fire fighting pump, installed in the engine room; 30m3/h, 4.0 bar
- one (1) electrically driven bilge pump as stand-by fire fighting pump; 30m3/h, 4.0 bar
- one small diesel driven emergency bilge-/fire fighting 16m3/h, 2.8bar
In engine room installed system: Kidde K90-200M FiFi System.
Vessel is equipped with water fire fighting system. The system type: Hale marine FiFi pump SPM1250DI (or eqv. As Owners option).
Portable fire protection equipment shall be provided according to the requirements of authorities.
The engine room shall be arranged for ease of operation and repair in case of maintenance as far as possible.
All valves and pumps are manually operated from engine room. All alarms to be indicated in wheel house.
For the main propulsion two Diesel engine, 4 stroke, direct injection, turbocharged with charged intercooling., electrically started shall be provided. The maximum continuous rating shall be 1100 bhp - 1900 rpm each. Producer: Moteurs Baudouin S.A.
The engines shall be arranged to use marine diesel fuel oil. Fuel oil pumps, lubrication oil pumps, fuel oil filters, lubrication oil filters and fresh water cooling pumps shall be built on the motors. Each main engine has a combined HT and LTcooling system. Cooling via box-coolers situated in sea chests. Each engine shall be connected to a flexible coupling to drive the azimuth propulsion unit. Engines shall be mounted as fixed installation to a steel foundation. Water gun hydraulic oil pump shall be mounted on SB-engine PTO-shaft. PTO-shaft to be equipped with clutch which should be included in main engine scope of supply. There shall be a 25 dB(A) exhaust gas silencer with spark arrestor for each engine.
For the main propulsion the vessel shall be equipped with two azimuth propulsion units. The propellers shall be 4-bladed, fixed pitch AlNi Bronze propellers, diam. 2000 mm, in steel nozzles. The remote control of the propulsion units shall be arranged from the wheelhouse by means of a standard control system of the propulsion unit. (manufacturers to be agreed).
One (1) diesel generator set, ca. 82 kVA/1500 rpm, 3 x 400 V 50 Hz (230V 50 Hz)
shall be installed in the engine room. One harbor diesel genset ca. 12 kVa/1900 rpm 3 x 400V (230V 50 Hz). Fuel oil pump, lubrication oil pump, fuel oil filters, lubrication oil filters and fresh water cooling pump shall be built on the diesels. Engine fresh water cooling via boxcoolers situated in sea chests acc. to engine room arrangement. Exhaust gas silencer shall be 25 dB(A). The diesels engines shall be electrically started. The fuel shall be marine diesel oil (MDO).
Exhaust gas diagram included in the design set. Exhaust gas pipes are made of welded steel pipe or welded steel plate sizes according Exhaust gas diagram. Pipes to be insulated with rockwool, layer thickness of 60mm. Pipes shall be covered with galvanized steel plate, thickness of 0.7mm. Piping to be equipped with compensators for eliminating heat expansion. Exhaust gas pipes are equipped with water separating pockets and drain pipes which are led to separate water traps. Exhaust gas pipes shall be led as straight as possible from engine to funnel top. Silencers with spark arrestors to be installed in each diesel engine. Silencers to be insulated with rockwool and to be covered with galvanized steel sheet. Total noise reduction in each silencer to be 25 dB(A).
Fuel oil transfer and feed diagram included in design set.
Fuel oil system is containing three (2) fuel oil storage tanks, piping and accessories as follows. Each diesel (fuel pump built-on) absorb fuel oil from fuel oil tanks. Tanks are equipped with level sensors and indicators on wheelhouse. No overflow piping system arranged when bunkering fuel oil storage tanks. Storage tanks are equipped with high level indication alarm sensors according diagram (design project). Storage tanks are also equipped with capasitive sensor (diagram - design) in meaning to verify not to overfill the tanks. Each diesel (fuel pump built-on) is getting fuel oil from fuel oil tanks via fuel filter.
Fresh water cooling diagram included in design set.
Main engines and the auxiliary engine are fresh water cooled. Coolers are boxcooler type, which are situated in sea chests. Slots in shell plating (inlet and outlet) to be made according to box-cooler manufacturers instructions. Each main engine has one box-cooler in the cooling circuit. Auxiliary engine has also a stand-by boxcooler. Only one cooler is in operation at the time. One expansion tank to be arranged in each cooling circuit, filling from fresh water system. Expansion tanks to be fitted with sight glasses and low level alarm sensors. Deaeration cocks shall be built-on in the engine. Deaeration to be arranged also in the cooling circuit. Chemical filling cocks to be arranged in the piping, not in the expansion tank.
One small air compressor with integrated air receiver to be installed in the engine

Drainage diagram included in design set.
Drainage to be arranged as follows:
- flat bars are welded around the wheelhouse edge to guide the water to the aft of the wheelhouse. Two pcs. drain pipes to be led from the aft of the wheelhouse top to the bridge deck.
- flat bars to be welded also around the edge of the bridge deck to guide the water to the aft of the deck. Two pcs drain pipes to be led from the aft of the bridge deck to main deck.
Bilge water diagram included in design set.
Bilge system to have suctions from engine room bilge wells. All bilge system valves are manually operated. All pumps have only local control panels, which are situated in engine room.
The outfitting shall consist at least of:
- bilge pump; 30m3/h, 4.0bar
- fire pump; 30m3/h, 4.0bar
Air and sounding diagram included in design set.
All tanks and void spaces to be equipped with air pipes according to marine requirements, except void spaces in bolted sections.
Black/grey water diagram included in design set.
Black water shall be discharged by gravity to a separate black water unit situated in engine room acc. to engine room arrangement. Black water unit has an internal high level indication system. Unit has also internal emptying pump. Discharge end of the pipe in bunker station. Air vent pipe of the black water tank to be located as far as possible from the accommodation ventilation inlet grids.
The outfitting shall consist at least of:
- one (1) wc seat
- one black water unit; net capacity 150L
Grey waters shall be discharged to a sewage tank situated in engine room. The tank shall be equipped with high level alarm sensor. Tank to be emptied by sewage pump. Discharge end of the pipe in bunker station. Grey water to be collected from washing basins situated in pentry and in laundry, and from floor drains situated in laundry/shower (2 pcs).
The outfitting shall consist at least of:
- sewage pump; 8m3/h, 1.5 bar
Sanitary water diagram included in design set.
Fresh water will be bunkered from ashore. Bunkering shore connection to be
situated on main deck, near bunker station. Bunkering connection is not allowed to
situate inside the bunker station.
Two (2) fresh water storage tanks are situated in the engine room, fresh water capacity is approx. 1.9m3 each tank.
Fresh water system consists of cold water distribution line and warm water distribution line. One fresh water pump to be fitted which will supply fresh water via waterfilter to consumers. Warm water to be heated with electric water heater. Warm water supply to pentry (one washstand), to laundry/shower (2 washstands) and one washstand in ER. Cold water also to be delivered to window washing nozzles. Window washing is divided in three sections. Each section has a solenoid valve which will be controlled by window washing control panel. Window washing lines to be equipped with anti freezing liquid tank and pump for antifreezing liquid to prevent nozzles to freeze. Antifreezing liquid tank and its pump to be located in the cofferdam below the wheelhouse. The outfitting shall consist at least of:
- one (1) fresh water pump; 3.6m3/h, 4.5bar
- one (1) waterfilter max.4m3/h
- one (1) water heater; 30L, 3.0kW
- one (1) antifreezing liquid pump; 63L/h, 6.5bar
For the lift-ups in the engine room there shall be lifting-lugs above the main engines, aux.engine, propulsion units, shafts. In the engine room there shall be an area for minor repair works. The area shall be provided with working table consisting of lockers for tools. Lockers to be equipped with lock.
All pipings of the vessel are to be made according to system diagrams and to comply with the usual marine practice. The work and material quality and finishing to be of high Ukrainian ship building quality. All important valves, defined by Owner, shall be equipped with name plates. Pipelines to be marked by coloured tapes or painting according to the standard defined by Owner.
Two (2) sea chests in the side of vessel for box-coolers, ship fire fighting, general service etc. intakes, shall be installed into the engine room area. Slots for boxcoolers in shell plating (inlet and outlet) to be made according to the box-cooler manufacturer’s instructions.
Electric distribution from diesel generator 82kVa 3*400V+N 50Hz or when in shore connection 3*400V 50Hz 63A. Also one harbot diesel generator 20kVa to be provided. Electric current to navigation equipment from UPS-uni (230V 50Hz).
3*400V+N 50Hz Main distribution line, where mainly all electric motor uses and lightning transformer will have their electric supply. 3*230V+N 50Hz Main distribution line where lightning, heating, galley equipments, navigation equipments and radio equipments will
have their electric supply. 24VDC All battery powered systems/equipments and lights. Distribution lines are isolated from the hull of the vessel.
Main switchboard consists of four sections as follows:
1 Generators section consisting equipments as follows
Volt meter, am meter, frequency meters, control switches and
control unit.
Volt meter and am meter for shore connection
Volt meter and am meter for lighting transformer
All the meters to be equipped with change-over switches
400V section
Consumer circuits are protected by fixed type circuit breakers, short cut relays
and over-current relays.

Consumer circuits are protected by fixed type circuit breakers. Writing pad to
be pull-out type
Generator circuit breaker is pull-out type, mechanically and electrically operated.
Main switchboard to be resiliently mounted.
Main switchboard to be included earth fault monitoring relay.
Non essential consumer tripping and alarm function to be arranged in the main switch
Equipments to be tripped are mainly heating radiators and galley equipments
(excluding air heating for wheel house windows and heating of wheel house).
Distribution switchboards B1 and B2 to be mounted underneath of the chart table.
Fixed breakers to be installed for consumers.
Shore supply box 63A to be installed in to the cabinet situated below wheelhouse.
Shore supply box provided with phase sequence indicator (rotation direction), volt
meter and fault mode current guard.
Near by the shore supply box to be installed 1 pcs 3*16 400V power socket. Two (2)
pcs 1*16A 230V grounded sockets.
The length of the shore connection cable shall be 50m, 4*16mm2 flexible and frost proof.
Telephone shore connection shall be situated in the same space as the shore supply box and to be provided with cable which length is 50m. The cable is flexible and frost proof.
The electric motors are mainly light alloy squirrel-gage motors (e.g. ABB) In general insulation class B and enclosure IP4 to be fulfilled. On open areas and below the engine room gratings enclosure class IP56 to be fulfilled.
All el.motors which power is at least 0.5 kW to be equipped with contactors and triple-pole thermal relays.
Y/D starters to be used if required.
Control voltage to starters is 230V.
Control buttons, fuses, indicating lamps and the remote control feasibility is included in every starter box.
For the fuel oil pumps, fans etc. to be arrange emergency stop buttons in the wheel house and in the main switchboard.
Vessel will be heated with water type radiators supplied from boiler (in engine room). At sea, window heating and the heated ventilation air for windows are electric powered (duct air heater 200m3/h; 1.5 kW).
Lighting transformer 3*400V/230V+-2*2.5% 25kVa DY11 with neutral-bars. The enclosures are made of sheet metal, class IP23. Transformers are dry, air cooled, insulation class at least E. Radio interference protection according to classification society. Lighting transformer 230V/24V10kVa. Location – ER.
Every battery unit to have constant chargers, which will operate also when electric supply from shore. Chargers to charge empty battery to full load, within six (6) hours.
Maintenance-free sealed lead-acid batteries (separate cells) 24V.

Battery capacities to be checked taking account to three start –ups.

If supply voltage is 24VDC in all navigation equipments is considerable to compensate ups-unit with accumulators which are buffer charged.\
Machinery control to be carried out as follows:
Main engines will be started up from main switch board
All auxiliaries will be started from main switch board
Steering only from wheel house
Monitoring and control equipments to be such kind that it is possible to operate the machinery systems from local control panels in meaning of emergency operation.
The operation of aux.engine from main switchboard or in emergency situation locally at aux.diesel engines. Generator synchronizing is not possible with shore supply. When shore connection under tension, it will switch on automatically when generator contact breaker opened.
Alarm system to be installed according to drawing which is part of design. System will be controlled from as follows:
-fire fighting system
-fire alarm system
-GA-alarm system
Lighting voltage is 230V, 50Hz and 24V. Mainly luminous tube and PL-lamps to be used. Two (2) pieces 1000W halogen working lights to be installed on the top of the wheel house. Two-pole lighting switches to be used. One lighting group is consisting max. 10 lighting points. Individual groups to be arranged for the sockets. All sockets are grounded. The type of lighting equipments to be approved by Owner. Lighting devices on open deck (5 pcs) 100W, glow lamp type. Red light to used. Red light is not allowed to install above the chart table. In the messroom, galley, cabins and wheelhouse lighting will be provided by 24V.
Emergency lighting lamps to be installed as follows:
-in engine room in the front of main switch board
-in accommodation corridors
-in mess room
-wheel house
-all exits
As emergency lighting devices lamp to be used with energy supply directly from battery in ER with separate switch.
Pa-system to be arranged including at least:
-Amplifier, power 100W
- Loudspeaker, wheelhouse 5W 1 pcs
- Loudspeaker, corridor of mess room 15W 1 pcs
- Loudspeaker, corridor of accommodation 15W 1 pcs
- Loudspeaker, engine room 20W 2 pcs
Information transmitted such as:
- command announcements
- sound signal from fire- and common alarm system
- non-simultaneous listening of the both VHF-channels (change-over switch to be arranged in to the line). Volume adjusting affects only to VHF-loudspeaker line.
ATC-telephone net for shore connection possibilities to be installed.
Central antenna system to be installed. System must include at least:
- Distribution amplifier to FM and TV.
- Antenna wall sockets 2 pcs in wheel house, one in each cabin and one in
mess room
RDS-car radio to be installed in to the wheel house.
An automatic fire detection system with analog addressable sectors to be installed in the wheel house. System must include three loops which are monitored. Detectors and push buttons to be installed acc. to rules and regulations international requirements. Alarms to be given via Audible and Visual alarm system. Fans for engine room ventilation and for accommodation ventilation to be equipped with change over switch which will make possible to smoke out blowing, if required.
The wheel house outfitting shall consist at least of:
