Modern 15.8m (52ft) Cruiser Racer

ICE Yachts is an entrepreneurial company in the international boat building industry. A build concept based on vast experience and know-how of leading architects and designers. A company created by professionals utilising a wide range of knowledge and passion applying cutting edge technology with modern materials. The company goal is the application of using such advanced technologies to create state- of-art custom built vessels.

From the extensive ICE range we have pleasure introducing the ICE 52

ICE 52 is a Modern classic cruiser racer which stands out for performance and on board comfort. This includes coastal or long range cruising plus racing and regattas.

The design is similar to the latest racer ICE 33, which was launched on June 2014 from the same yard. The aerodynamic profile, the water lines and the appendages all contribute to superior performance. Strength and lightness are the key guide lines, matched with style and functionality below deck.

TECHNICAL DATA (Details of optional extras available on request)

Construction Material: Epoxy infusion, Sandwich, Glass Carbon, Carbon Mast (optional)

12 Tons of displacement, 25% less than the average of the category

Close to 140 square meters of sail on the wind

And 400 square meters downwind

High stability created between weight and ballast ratio

Hull and deck of the boat are laminated with an infusion technique in sandwich with composite materials, using glass-carbon fiber with epoxy resin and PVC foam core with different density and thickness.

The localized reinforcements are made with unidirectional and biaxial carbon fibers.

The structures either longitudinal or traverse (bulkheads and floors), are entirely vacuum laminated in epoxy sandwich using glass-carbon fibers and PVC foam cores at various densities.

The chain plates of shrouds, forestay and backstay are composite and steel.

The three cabins are comfortable and refined, with the right ventilation and completed with large lockers to stow personal belongings. All this is in a clean and modern style with extensive use of solid wood and design of the furniture and the orientation of the wood veneer, to provide luxurious and refined interior but without losing the typical offshore elements. Galley position is optional with one version located further forward.

Each boat has developed a powerful and fast hull, capable of excellent performance even in light winds, thanks to the careful study of the immersed volume and the containment of the wet surface.

With appendages there is a choice between fixed keel and single blade rudder or lifting keel. With the lifting keel draft is just 2.29m (7,54 ft)

The fin is constructed of Weldox steel with a lead bulb to reduce the ballast displacement and in turn the total boat displacement. The steering wheel is positioned forward allowing optimal view.

The large area of stern, clear of equipment, can also be fitted with cushions. The lifting transom is suitable for sea-bathing and provides access to a large garage where it is possible to stow the tender.  The cockpit is spacious with large seatbacks and benches and can include a dining table. The wide but discrete windows of the coach roof provide ideal interior lighting without limiting privacy.

The boat deck is uncluttered and equipped with electric roller-furler jib, fitted below the deck and fixed bowsprit with anchor and Gennaker tack.

These are the qualities that have allowed the famous FELCI 61 (which lead to the ICE 52) to win the (ARC Atlantic Rally, Giraglia, Antigua, Sailing Week, 500 x 2 and many others.
